 POWER OVER SATAN AND DEMONS

 Scripture: Mark 3:27 “No one can enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods unless he first binds the strong man. Then he will plunder his house.

       Jesus came to Earth to destroy the works of Satan: 1 John 3:8 “Whoever practises sin is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was revealed, that He might destroy the works of the Devil.”

       To establish God’s kingdom and to free us, all of humankind, from Satan’s power. Matthew 12:28  “Bud if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.”

       One of the man themes in Mark’s gospel is Jesus’ constant aim to defeat Satan and His demonic powers. In scripture Jesus puts into action the principal behind this spiritual conflict with Satan and his powers in his use of the words “Binds the strongman” and “Plunder his house” – setting free those who are slaves to Satan or “possessed” by demonic powers and reclaiming their lives for God’s Kingdom.

       Jesus overcomes the enemy by driving out the demons (Greek “Daimonion”) or evil spirits. “Driving out” or “Casting out” means that Jesus is exercising His authority to force demonic powers to give up control of people whose lives and bodies have been in Satan’s control.

       We must surrender our “minds, will and emotions over to Jesus Christ to experience Victory.
